Clea - Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 July 2026
By using Clea you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Clea is
Clea is an educational tool. It shows estimates of microplastic levels drawn from published scientific research, matched to a product's food type and packaging - not a laboratory measurement of your specific item.
Not medical or health advice
Nothing in Clea is medical, health, dietary, or professional advice. The health effects of ingesting microplastics are an area of ongoing scientific research and are not established. Do not rely on Clea for health decisions; consult a qualified professional.
Accuracy
Estimates are derived from third-party studies and general research, are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate for any specific product. We make no warranties as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
"No data" means we have no cited research for that item - not that it is free of microplastics.
Product identification
Product information is supplied by Open Food Facts and may be incomplete or incorrect. We are not responsible for third-party data.
Clea Pro subscriptions
Clea Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly). Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of any free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your store account settings at any time. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, or use it unlawfully.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, Clea.
Third-party data
Product data is provided by Open Food Facts under the Open Database License (ODbL).
